Property tax
Two offices, one bill.
The property appraiser sets the value and keeps the roll. The tax collector sends the bill, and in these counties also handles tags and driver licenses. Paying the appraiser does not pay the tax.
Who sets the value
Search the roll from the listing. Homestead and other exemptions are filed with the appraiser. Duval’s appraiser published March 1, 2026 as the timely date for the 2026 roll, and late filing for that roll ran into early September. For the next roll, use the appraiser’s site.
Who collects the bill
Duval’s tax collector says annual bills go out in November. A payment in November is discounted 4 percent, December 3 percent, January 2 percent, and February 1 percent. March has no discount. The last day to pay without a penalty is March 31, and unpaid taxes become delinquent on April 1. That calendar is Duval’s. Read it on the collector’s site.
The St. Johns tax collector says property tax notices are mailed by November 1, payments are due in March, and paying early can earn a discount of up to 4 percent.
Clay publishes its own calendar on the collector’s site. Read that page before you rely on a date.
